Cosmetic Dentistry and Botox Solutions to Give You an Overall Refreshed Look

You don't need to worry about the signs of aging spoiling your facial features and smile anymore! At Smile Arizona Dentistry, we provide aesthetic dentistry and Botox solutions to help reduce signs of aging and redefine your smile. One of our goals is to ensure that you get an overall refreshed look.

Botox can correct a range of dental concerns (from TMJ pain to lip flip and teeth grinding) and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Botox & Facial Esthetics Solutions That We Have to Offer

Botox (Botulinum Toxin) is a neurotoxic protein produced by the Clostridium Botulinum bacterium and related species. When injected into the skin, it slows and freezes muscular contraction to create wrinkle-free, younger-looking skin.

We offer Botox as a solution for the following concerns:

Two or more units of Botox are injected in the area between the upper lip and nose to relax the muscles and limit the rise of the upper lip when smiling, keeping your gums covered.

Gummy Smile

Botox will weaken the muscles responsible for teeth grinding and signal your brain not to overuse them, thus preventing bruxism. It also reduces muscle soreness and tooth stress caused by bruxism.

Bruxism

Botox can help relax the jaw and surrounding facial muscles, eliminating the pain and discomfort caused by the TMJ disorder.

TMJ

Botox relaxes the lip and facial muscles, allowing the skin to smooth out, thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Lip and Face Aging Lines

Exposed gums, aging lines, saggy skin, and pain and discomfort from bruxism and TMJ disorder can impact your smile. Botox shots help address all these issues while giving you an enhanced smile.

Impacted Smile

Botox relaxes the muscles around your mouth and lips, making your lip flip slightly upwards, thus creating fuller and plumped lips.

Other Facial Esthetics Solutions That We Offer

PDO Threads

PDO threads made of polydioxanone rejuvenate the skin while reducing fat deposits and stimulating collagen production. It can help tighten sagging skin without leaving any scars or marks!

Cosmetic Threads

  • Smooth Threads
Resorbable sutures are placed where skin needs improvement or smoothing. As your body absorbs these threads, it increases collagen production, thus reducing sagging skin and wrinkles.
  • Lifting Threads
These resorbable threads resolve sagging skin and aging lines around the nasolabial folds and jowls.

Dermal Fillers

While reducing aging furrows, fillers help restore fullness and volume on your face around your cheeks, lips, and mouth.

Botox was once used as a cosmetic treatment to correct wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes and lips. Now it is also used for dental aesthetic enhancement procedures, such as lip augmentation, denture adjustments, and orthodontic procedures where retraining facial muscles are necessary. It serves as a minimally invasive alternative to high lip line surgery. With Botox, you can restore both your facial and dental esthetics and have an enhanced, rejuvenated appearance.

Dr. Beth will examine your teeth and mouth and ask about any previous cosmetic treatments you have undergone. If required, we will take an X-ray to check for signs of infections in your teeth and gums. Based on your test results and oral health condition, we will recommend a suitable treatment option.

FAQs

Facial esthetics in dentistry refers to a range of non-surgical additional procedures like Botox and dermal fillers and other skincare products used to achieve a more natural-looking smile as a result of a dental makeover. Facial esthetics solutions can reduce the signs of aging on your face and give you a younger look and a more fresh appearance.

Esthetic dentistry treatments, including Botox, fillers, and threading, can create perfect harmony between your overall facial esthetics and smile. While fixing your dental concerns, esthetic dentistry techniques improve the appearance of your smile and the functionality of your teeth. The esthetic dentistry techniques are minimally invasive and can be performed with minimum downtime and significant comfort.

The esthetic dentistry treatments will help you get a pleasing smile that improves your confidence, quality of life, and frankly improve your first impression you will have on people.

Botox is a safe, FDA-approved procedure, but getting it done by a professional is crucial to experience the best possible results. After the treatment, it is quite common to experience flu-like symptoms, pain, or swelling at the injection site for a few days.

No! It will only relax the muscles around your upper lip to resolve a gummy smile.

Botox isn't advisable for people:

  • Allergic to any Botox ingredients
  • With skin infection on the target area, breathing problems, bleeding issues, difficulty swallowing, drooping eyelids, or weakness in forehead muscles
  • Taking or have recently taken cold/allergy/sleep medicines and vitamin supplements
  • Planning to undergo surgery or have had facial surgery
  • With muscle or nerve-impacting diseases, like myasthenia gravis, ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), Lambert-Eaton syndrome

Side effects can occur. The most typical side effects a patient may experience are:

  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Slight tenderness

Allergic reactions can occur, but this is very rare. Side effects won’t last long and mostly disappear on their own.

Dr. Beth Vander Schaaf is qualified and experienced to deliver these facial esthetic treatments with outstanding results. We will listen to your unique requirements and dental concerns carefully so that we can create a customized treatment plan for you. Our team uses the best and FDA-approved dental practices to ensure maximum results, comfort, convenience, and safety of our patients.

Depending on the type of insurance plan you have, you may or may not be covered for facial esthetic procedures. Typically elective procedures are not a covered benefit. Contact us and make an appointment. We will ask that you explain your desires, discover and determine your needs, weigh the choices you have and also see whether your plan covers esthetic dentistry procedures. Fortunately, sometimes your care can be staged for improvement on a gradual basis to keep the care as affordable as possible.
