What Are Clear Aligners?

What Are Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are thin, lightweight, and transparent plastic trays, which can be customized depending on your teeth size and shape. These aligners are effective at straightening your teeth by slowly moving them into position and can transform your smile.

These aligners use an exclusive material and designing process that provides a precise and tight fit to your teeth, eliminating the need for most attachments. You can wear each tray for two weeks and then replace it with the next tray until you achieve the desired alignment.

Who Are the Best Candidates for Reveal Clear Aligners?

With Reveal Clear Aligners, you can permanently get your teeth alignment problems treated without any drawbacks. Reveal Clear Aligners are the best choice for:

1. People Who Want a Straighter Smile

People who have uneven smiles due to their crooked, gapped, or misaligned teeth are great candidates. Clear aligner trays can fit precisely over your teeth and help to re-position your teeth.

2. People Who Need an Alternative to Braces

Traditional braces have many drawbacks compared to clear aligners. They are noticeable and cannot be removed until the end of the treatment. It can also be difficult for some people to maintain their oral health with braces.

These drawbacks can be eliminated by Reveal Clear Aligners, as they are unnoticeable, easy to remove, and can be customized. Patients who use these aligners do not have to deal with any discomfort or unwanted issues that braces may cause.

4. People Who Require Mild or Moderate Orthodontic Work

Clear aligners can be used to correct mild or moderate orthodontic problems such as mild to moderate overjet, mild or moderate open bite or overbite, and mildly or moderately crooked or crowded teeth.

What Is Our Process of Reveal Clear Aligners?

What Is Our Process of Reveal Clear Aligners?

Getting Reveal Clear Aligners at Smile Arizona Dentistry just requires one or two visits. The process of getting clear aligners includes these simple steps:

Dental Examination and Teeth Impression

Our dentist will completely examine your teeth and take X-ray films to check for any hidden dental problems. If you have no dental problems and can receive aligners, we will take the impression of your teeth using a digital scanner or traditional impression method, and the impression will be sent to the laboratory to make your custom-fit aligners.

Receiving Your Aligners

You will receive your custom aligners once they are ready. Our dentist will check to make sure it fits properly with your teeth. Also, our dentist will explain to you the instructions, including how to use and care for your aligners.

Why See a Dentist for Clear Aligners?

Experienced and professional dentists make the process of treating teeth alignment problems with clear aligners easy and comfortable. Our dentists will:

  • Assess your overall dental health to make sure you are the right candidate for receiving the clear aligners.
  • Examine and identify whether you have dental problems that can affect the outcome of your teeth alignment treatment with clear aligners.
  • Take an accurate teeth impression to provide you the best-fit custom aligners, which are important for the success of your treatment.
  • Create a treatment plan that is tailored to meet your unique teeth straightening goals.
  • Make sure your treatment is properly monitored, and oral health is maintained.
  • Be there to help you throughout the treatment process.
  • Speed up care if, in fact, attachments or interdental reduction (IPR) is indicated. (IPR is some smoothing of enamel between teeth to help in positions or discrepancy in tooth size)

Reveal Clear Aligners FAQs

You will have no trouble wearing clear aligners as they are comfortable and safe to wear.

The benefits of Reveal Clear Aligners include:

  • More discreet than traditional braces
  • Easy to wear, remove, and clean
  • Easier to maintain good oral health
  • Resistant to food stains and no food particles get stuck in your teeth
  • Fewer dental appointments as they do not require tightening or replacement of bands like with traditional braces

You need to wear clear aligners for at least 22 hours a day despite your treatment length. Your treatment will be effective if you wear clear aligners for the recommended time. However, make sure to take out the trays when you eat, brush, and floss.

On average, it may take 6 to 12 months to correct teeth misalignment with clear aligners, but the treatment time may vary depending on the degree of your teeth misalignment. Mildly misaligned teeth can be corrected in a shorter time than moderately misaligned teeth.

Like other aligners, Reveal Clear Aligners do not require any attachments for anchoring the tooth movement. (Sometimes we do place attachments to speed up tooth movement.) These attachment-free aligners can improve your aesthetics while saving your time and money that you spend on dental visits when receiving braces.

Clear aligners have never been more cost-effective. If you have an orthodontic insurance rider, which is in addition to a basic dental “insurance” plan, you get a sizable discount often up to 50% off traditional orthodontic care. We can help you with your questions in our office.

You typically will always pay a portion of your care whether you choose traditional or clear aligners for tooth straightening. Dental insurance is not true insurance, it is a dental assistance payment plan, and typically, you can expect to pay a portion of your care for most visits. Again, let’s look at your benefits, you work hard for your benefits, and we will help you use every penny of your health coverage!

Schedule an appointment with us if you are looking to correct your orthodontic problems such as crooked, misaligned, or crowded teeth. Our Scottsdale dental team will provide you the best, custom-made clear aligners to correct your orthodontic problems and transform your smile.

And remember, straightening teeth is for your HEALTH, not just perfecting your already terrific smile. Straight teeth are easier to keep clean and floss on a daily basis, and this keeps the bacteria in your bloodstream at the lowest level possible. So said another way, straight teeth are good for the health of your heart!
